PROJECTS
Core Competences
Project Management, Engineering, Design, Inspection, Consulting, and Technical Staffing to include:
(Engineers, Designers, QA/QC Auditors and Inspectors, Technicians, Planners, Schedulers)
Previous Projects
BASF, Huntsville, AL
Project Management/ Engineering
Project Scope: Planning and Scheduling/ Project Management Support Installation of a Square D Power
Zone 4 Power Dry II substation. This was a 2500 KVA unit. The transformer is a 12,470 high voltage and 480 volts low voltage unit which is rated for 3000 amps. The feeder breaker unit has a 4000 amp main breaker and four 1600 amp feeder breakers. The substation was installed to feed a new production line.
Conoco/ Phillips, Coker Turnaround, Belle Chase, LA
Engineering/Project Staffing/ Project Support/ Planning and Scheduling/ Inspection
Project Scope: Upgrade of Electrical and Instrumentation systems. Provide support for mechanical equipment. Provided technical staffing and engineering support for turnaround activities. Provided a DCS Engineers, I/C Technicians, E/I Inspectors, Rotating Equipment Specialist for loop checks and start-up activities.
BP Petrochemical Complex Turnaround, Decatur, AL
Project management of annual electrical maintenance. This included substation transformer, breaker &
Switchgear testing. The transformer testing included TTR, Insulation and Oil Analysis. The breaker test consisted of testing the trip unit with secondary current injection, Phase to Phase and to Ground Insulation, DLRO test of contacts and connections and hi-pot vacuum bottle test. Clean/Inspect Motor Control Centers. Checking all terminal connections in MCC buckets. Upgrade of Protective Relays on 23 feeder breakers, 3 tie breakers and 6 main breakers while the system was in service. Removal of 126 electromechanical protective relays. Installation of 33 SEL protective relays. Removal of over 3600 wires in the protective relay circuits & rewire using approximately 1500 new SIS wires to the electronic relays.
Each system control circuit was function tested to the output of the trip and close coil circuits. Performed Power Studies which included fault contributions, protective device coordination and Arc Flash hazard analysis. Use of SKM and ETAP software. Provided recommendation of solutions for the reduction of arc flash levels at all voltage levels. Reduced arc flash calories from over 5000 to less than 40.
